2024 Peterson Scholar: Dr. Xuemin Lyu
The Hippy Lab was honored to host Dr. Xuemin Lyu, a distinguished professor and leading surgeon in pediatric orthopaedics from Beijing Jishuitan Hospital of Peking University, China, for a special observership at BC Children’s Hospital in Summer 2024. In recognition of his expertise and contributions to the field, Dr. Lyu was the 2024 recipient of the Peterson Fellowship for Global Hip Health. This award is part of a special collaborative initiative aimed at fostering bilateral knowledge exchange between global experts in pediatric orthopaedics.
During his visit in May 2024, Dr. Lyu engaged closely with our team. This was an incredible opportunity for knowledge exchange with Dr. Kishore Mulpuri, the head of the UBC Department of Orthopaedics, and the Hippy Lab team. Dr. Lyu’s presence provided a unique opportunity for our Hippy Lab team to gain insights from one of the foremost figures in pediatric orthopaedics, enriching our practices and broadening our perspectives on patient care.
We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to host Dr. Lyu and look forward to continued collaboration with him and other international experts in the future. His visit marks a significant step forward in our mission to push the boundaries of pediatric orthopaedic care through global partnerships and shared learning.
