Inaugural Recipient of the Peterson Scholar for Global Hip Health: Dr. Sukhdeep Dulai
Congratulations to Dr. Sukhdeep Dulai!
Dr. Dulai is the first recipient of the Peterson Scholar for Global Hip Health Travelling Award.
She spent the month of August with the Hippy Lab team at BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Dr. Dulai has taken a year of sabbatical from clinical work; she is dedicating her time to several global hip health projects, including:
Outreach in rural and remote Indian communities by providing educational materials for patients, families and health care providers regarding hip displacement in cerebral palsy (CP) and developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH).
Working in conjunction with the Hippy Lab in developing a Canadian care pathway for DDH.
About Dr. Sukhdeep Dulai
Sukhdeep K. Dulai, MD, MHSc, FRCSC is a Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Stollery Children’s and Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospitals in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She is a Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Alberta. She is a founding member and past president of the Canadian Paediatric Orthopaedic Group (CPOG), a Director of the Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation, an executive member of the RCPSC Orthopaedic Surgery examinations committee and second president elect of the Canadian Orthopaedic Association.
Her clinical subspecialty interests are limb deformity, developmental hip dysplasia and neuromuscular disorders. She is a member of the Women and Children’s Health Research Institute (WCHRI), chair of the Paediatric Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation medicine Research Team of Alberta (PORRTAL) and orthopaedic lead for the U of A DDH study group.
