Dr. Armin Nouri Zaldeh Wins People’s Choice Award at BCCHR 3MT - Advances to UBC Semi-Finals
We are thrilled to share some exciting news— Hippy Lab’s Masters student, Dr. Armin Nouri Zaldeh has advanced to the UBC Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Semi-Finals! 🎉
The 3MT competition challenges researchers to present their work in just three minutes, making complex topics accessible and engaging for a non-specialist audience. It’s an incredible opportunity to develop public speaking skills, showcase impactful research, and compete on a larger stage.
Armin’s presentation explores the feasibility of Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) in assessing muscle spasticity in children with cerebral palsy.
By measuring the Tissue Oxygenation Index (TOI), the team aims to determine whether NIRS can effectively correlate oxygenation levels with varying degrees of spasticity, potentially offering a non-invasive tool for monitoring and evaluating muscle function in CP patients.
After an impressive presentation at BCCHR’s 3MT event, Armin is moving forward to represent our lab at the UBC Semi-Finals. This is a fantastic achievement; congratulations, Armin!
